Hastings Direct, the insurance brand that uses the voice of The Inbetweeners’ James Buckley as a talking seagull sat on a guano-stained statue, has shortlisted Partners Andrews Aldridge and Rapp to pitch for its ad account. It is believed that the incumbent, Antidote, which was responsible for the previous campaign, has been dropped.

The final presentations for the SSE CRM pitch were on Tuesday, with PAA and Proximity going head-to-head. MRM Meteorite was knocked out after the first pitch and Rapp was involved at an earlier stage but subsequently pulled out. Tina Fegent is the consultant on the review.

Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, Bartle Bogle Hegarty and VCCP scrummed down on Monday for the keenly contested Rugby World Cup 2015 pitch. It has also been a busy week for agencies on the whopping £50 million Dixons pitch. AMV, BBH and the incumbent, M&C Saatchi, all showed their final work at the retail giant’s headquarters in Hemel Hempstead on Wednesday. A result is expected imminently.
