Pioneer links up with National Geographic for HDTV push

LONDON - Media Planning Group has brokered a deal between Pioneer and National Geographic Channel to promote the electronics giant's high-definition TV range.

The eight-week deal involves sponsorship of programmes, including 'Megastructures' and 'Wild Things' and also includes an online link-up, with a specially created Pioneer microsite available through the channel's website.

Marc Mendoza, MPG managing partner, said: "National Geographic Channel provides the ideal platform for Pioneer to raise the profile of its cutting-edge HDTV products.

"This innovative cross-media sponsorship deal will undoubtedly allow Pioneer to position itself as the HDTV brand of choice in the UK."
