The Sustainable Events Summit 2015 is taking place at the QEII Centre in London today (6 July), with more than 120 event industry professionals in attendance.

Delegates were then invited to take part in five 'gloves off' practical sessions that covered a range of topics and were facilitated by speakers from Smyle, Goodwood and Positive Impact, among others. 

The pre-lunch session saw a panel of five industry professionals, including Event reporter Katie Deighton, discuss the industry's understanding of the term sustainability, key trends and more. 

Chris Hines, founder of Surfers Against Sewage, delivered an inspirational talk about his sustainable work over the last 25 years. 

After lunch, delegates were split between three sessions, of which they could attend two. They covered communication, culture and education in relation to sustainability. 

Still to come is the closing plenary, which will address why sustainability is vital for corporate planners.
