In pictures: The Spitfire Sisters go through to Beat the Brief final

Close harmony group The Spitfire Sisters were voted the winners of Beat the Brief's second heat, which took place last night (16 June) in London venue Guanabara.

The singing act defeated runners-up String Fever following an audience stand-up vote. For the second time in a row, a cheering vote was too close to call the winner.

The six entries in last night’s heat were challenged to develop a performance for the UK launch of a fictional Brazilian biscuit brand. Dressed in colourful dresses, the Spitfire Sisters performed a three-song set littered with references to Brazil, and Frank Sinatra’s The Coffee Song was reimagined as The Biscuit Song for the night.

The trio also beat off competition on the night from contortionist Orissa Kelly, singer Francesca, shadow performers 2 Minds Combined and flash mob dance troupe Club Mob. 

The latter fooled the audience into thinking a solo singer on stage was having terrible mic troubles before members of the group that were hiding in the audience joined her on stage for a colourful dance.

The Spitfire Sisters will compete against for the Beat the Brief crown at (23 June). The winner will be invited to perform at , which take place at the Eventim Apollo, London.
