Corporate guests from companies such as PWC, Barclays and Grant Thornton were in attendance to celebrate the venue’s anniversary. Harbour & Jones, which is the in-house caterer and event management team at Prince Philip House, was inspired by the building’s Grade I-listed façade and modern interior to create a menu that explored the theme of ‘old and new’.
Using interactive food stalls to display its offering, the caterer updated ancient dishes with contemporary twists. These included filled chapattis and Scotch bhajis served in an Indian area entitled ‘London meets Dheli’ and doughnuts filled with savoury fillings such as crab mousse with chilli and lemon sugar. A gigantic plate of puddings was showcased in the Al Qasimi room as a finale.
Continuing the interactive element of the evening, guests were challenged to a popcorn-tasting test. Party-goers were invited to match the flavours to numbers on a card, with bonus points going to anyone who could guess the mystery taste.
Technology agency Luma also installed a digital graffiti wall for guests to doodle on, which could be printed out as a souvenir at the end of the evening.
Rupert Outram, general manager at Prince Philip House, said: "We couldn’t have hoped for a better evening. It was rewarding to see how much our guests enjoyed the whole experience. Prince Philip House is the perfect setting for fun evening events like this, and we’re really looking forward to welcoming more guests to the venue."
