In pictures: Pepsi Max delivers Café '80s experience for Future Day

Pepsi Max invited fans of Back to the Future II to explore its specially designed café within the Empire Cinema in London's Leicester Square yesterday (21 October).

The excitement began outside of the building, where the film’s DeLorean car was parked outside. At exactly 4.29pm characters Marty McFly and Doc Brown could be found by the automobile, having just arrived in the ‘future’.

Fans and passers-by were invited to snap an image in front of the car, and there were photo opportunities with the characters.

Once inside the building, those who had won tickets to the soft drink brand's were invited to visit a space resembling the film's Café 80's scene. 

Central to the experience was a machine that dispensed Pepsi Max in clear plastic bottles. Attendees were required to present their tickets and state ‘All I want is a Pepsi’ to receive their reward.

The café also included television screens that displayed scenes from the film, popular 1980s video games such as Pac Man and Space Invaders, exercise bikes with the Pepsi Max logo and booths that displayed the American flag.

Once they had explored the space and gained their beverage, ticketholders were directed to the cinema for a screening of Back to the Future II, which commenced at 5.30pm. 

The experience was the result of a partnership between Pepsi Max, Universal Pictures and Empire Cinemas.
