The event series, which was meant to launch one week before yesterday's opening night, opened its doors to ticket-holders in a location near to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London.

Organisers recreated the film’s 1950s Hill Valley town as part of the experience, featuring shops, a school dance and funfair brought to life by 85 actors.

Guests were able to tuck into milkshakes and hot dogs, as well as watch sporadic performances before and during the screening of the film, including a 1950s-style dance routine, and the movie's main character Marty McFly showing off his skateboarding skills.

Secret Cinema Presents Back to the Future will run until 31 August.
