The rooftop garden has been designed to give guests an immersive Christmas experience and showcase Samsung’s latest offerings. The decision to use the space was secured after the success of .
After walking through a gust of faux snow, guests can choose to relax inside an Inuit shelter and learn about the story of the garden, hide away in a snug and discover how to adopt their own Adelie penguin, or enjoy a hot chocolate from Hotel Chocolat’s pop-up bar.
Visitors can also explore the interactive elements inside Monty’s House, which has been kitted out with a variety of Samsung products. A Christmas card-making booth is available to try using cameras and tablets, and a biscuit decorating station has been set up in the kitchen area, with all produce supplied by Waitrose.
Samsung ambassadors will also be on-hand in the house to carry out product demonstrations. Outside the house, guests can take in the view of Oxford Street or snap a selfie with a life-size version of Monty.
Jack Swallow, senior account executive at PrettyGreen, told Event the set-up for the garden was intense. "We only had a two-week turnaround to make it happen, so we enlisted one of our trusted production agencies to do the build and used what we could from the summer set-up," he said. "It was two late to bring a crane in so we had to transport most of it up using the in-store lifts."
John Lewis has also partnered with Samsung , which will enable children to bring their toys to life.
