Five new names made it onto the catering shortlist for 2013. Absolute Taste, Ampersand, Purple Grape, Richmond and Smart Hospitality pulled out all the stops to impress the judges.
Entrants were asked to meet the same briefs, created by Event, for two different events, plus one showcase of their own that summed up their company’s ability and ethos.
On the judging panel were Chris Wareham, managing director of Mash Marketing; Charley Taylor-Smith, head of hospitality events at the National Theatre; Petra Bones, head of Banqueting House; Lynden Bugler, event manager for British Airways; Helen Horton, awards director at Haymarket Events; and Jo Plinston, events manager at Haymarket Events.
