Home and dining brand Denby teamed up with John Lewis to stage a one-day series of workshops designed to shake up traditional dining etiquette.

Research conducted by Denby suggests that the traditional dinner party set-up is becoming less popular in Britain - only one third of Brits lay a formal table setting and three quarters no longer serve three-course meals.

Denby brought in food and design specialists to help create the series of immersive workshops, and to give advice to guests on modern entertaining.

Masterclasses included Cheat’s Puddings with dessert master Aimee Twigger, Canapés for all eaters with supper club queen Anna Barnett, Food Fit for Instagram with food stylists The Meringue Girls, A Brief History of the Dinner Party with historian Dr Annie Gray and Set a Stylish Table with Denby designer Richard Eaton.

Hayley Baddiley, Global Marketing Director of Denby, said: "A more experiential approach to customer engagement has proved hugely successful for Denby as part of our overall mix. Finding ways for consumers to touch and feel the product, and be inspired by our partners, ambassadors and teams about how Denby is designed for modern living, gives an insight into the brand which is beyond just seeing it in-store or on-line. We’ll certainly be doing more of this type of activity going forward."

The workshops took place in the John Lewis affiliated store Peter Jones, situated in London's Sloane Square on 14 November.

On 7 November, , featuring private dining lodges and masterclasses. On 29 November,  in London.
