The new private event space, located on Camberwell Church Street, is the brainchild of Mel and Jose Raido, who opened south London boutique hotel Church Street Hotel in 2007, as well as the Angels and Gypsies tapas restaurant in 2009, which is located above Communion bar.
Representatives from ES magazine, Esquire, In Style, Glamour and Condé Nast Traveller were in attendance at the launch event alongside individuals from film, music and event companies.
Live music was provided by funk band Trombone Jerome, and Angels and Gypsies created a number of tapas dishes for guests to tuck into. This included jamón croquetas, spinach and feta empanadas, salt cod fritters and raxo pork with patatas fritas and brava sauce. A selection of wood-fired, organic sourdough and rye breads were also served with with Harencia la Mancha olive oil and organic sage and crushed sea salt.
Thorman Hunt wines, small label Armagnac, Calvados and Champagne was also supplied for the launch party event.
