The company conducted research into the average waiting times of London bus routes and sent a fleet of branded rally cars to pick up users waiting for these services. The stunt was timed to take place on ‘unlucky’ date, Friday the 13th.
Bus routes that were targeted by the ‘herd’ of cars included the RV1, the 205, the 274, the 10 and 188. Each driver was dressed as a horse in a nod to the brand’s latest advertising campaign.
Naomi Totten, brand public relations executive at Betfair, said: "Friday the 13th is well known for being an unlucky day, but many commuters fear the curse may strike at any moment.
"When this was combined with the average waiting times many people face on bus routes all around London we couldn’t help but step in and bring a slice of luck to travellers with the horse-driven Betfair rally cars that feature in our new brand advert."
