The event marked the mid-way point for the United Nations’ 16 Days of Activism, a global human rights-based movement against gender violence.
Celebrity guests included Danielle Linekar, models Olivia Inge and Noelle Reno, former contestant of BBC One's The Apprentice Michelle Dewberry, and Karis Anderson and Courtney Rumbold of music group Stooshe.
The evening began with a skating session for guests on Somerset House’s outdoor ice rink, before moving inside the venue for drinks and canapés provided by caterer Zafferano.
Canapés included sesame cornets of native lobster, spiced avocado and kimchi mayonnaise; squash and black bean baby chimichanga with soured cream and guacamole; and carpaccio of beef on a poppy seed crostini with truffled mascarpone, rocket and parmesan shavings.
Avon UK Cosmetic’s director Michelle Parczuk gave a keynote speech about the company’s latest research, revealing 40% of women know someone who has experienced domestic violence.
Representatives from Avon’s charity partners spoke about the issue of domestic violence on stage including Sandra Horley, chief executive of Refuge, and Polly Neate, chief executive of Women’s Aid.
Singer Jamelia rounded off the night with a short acoustic performance including songs Stop, Crazy by Gnarls Barkley, and her 2004 hit Thank You, which she wrote about an abusive relationship.
Sound by Design worked on the production of the event.
