The beauty brand teamed up with charity Refuge to stage the event at Somerset House on 6 March, which featured an interactive exhibition, panel discussion and Q&A session on the subject of domestic violence.

Avon-funded research has found that more than 50% of young people experience controlling behaviour in relationships and 32% said that how a controlling partner had treated them prevented them living their life, while 39% think these types of behaviours are not talked about enough.

The event aimed to highlight these issues by allowing for an open discussion on domestic violence and controlling behaviour in relationships, as well as its traumatic effects.

Guests at the exhibition were surrounded by messages encourgaging them to speak out, as well as artwork which showcased the shocking affects and statistics of domestic violence. A virtual reality experience demonstrated what it's like to be a victim of coersive control, by putting the viewer in the place of a women sitting in her home as a man walks in and starts shouting, making her feel the need to hide her phone.

Visitors were also encouraged to sign their names in lipstick on a mirror, which was branded with the campaign's hashtag #BeBoldForChange.
