The Birkenhead-based company announced last week (14 March) it had secured an undisclosed investment to grow the business, to include the creation of a hospitality group for catering, leisure contracts and venue and event management, and also said it intended to acquire its own venues.

Speaking to Event, Pickled Walnut director Jamie Anderson confirmed Pickled Walnut had gone into voluntary liquidation earlier this month and that there had been a subsequent restructure of the business, with its purchase by another firm in order to consolidate the existing business into a new company.

The new holding company is J2M2S Ltd trading as Pickled Walnut, and includes Pickled Walnut Catering, Pickled Walnut Events, Food@... By Pickled Walnut and Pickle Me Quick.

"We have gone into liquidation and restructured the company," said Anderson. "New investors have helped to consolidate the business."

Anderson also confirmed that an informal creditors meeting will be held on 3 April, where the business will discuss how it can continue to work with suppliers. He would not comment on how much might be owed to creditors.
