Pick of the Week: Simon Cowell's frozen performance brings in the laughs for Barclaycard

Mocking Britain's Got Talent pays off for Barclaycard and Droga5 London.

Celebrities trying humour in ads isn’t always a formula for an outstanding piece of work. Throw Droga5 into the mix, though, and you have something that is brilliant.

First, pulling in Simon Cowell won’t have been an easy task; for him to laugh at himself helps make this film even better. His acting may not be on point, but who cares? This is very funny.

Furthermore, coming up with a ridiculous idea – a talent show in Antarctica – and using that to show how Barclaycard’s product benefits customers is a creative strategy.

Droga5 has managed to turn a pretty boring subject into a fun film that will no doubt engage viewers and help Barclaycard educate customers on taking control of their finances.
