Peugeot explores launching low-cost car under new brand

Reports in France claim that the company is looking at the idea of re-importing into Europe low-cost vehicles built in emerging economies. But rather than use one of its existing brands, Peugeot or Citroen, it would badge the vehicles under a new brand identity.

Industry insiders are speculating that the company may turn to Talbot, a brand created by PSA Peugeot Citroen in the late 1970s and early 1980s to sell models previously manufactured by made by Chrysler Europe.

Meanwhile, Peugeot recently hired digital and eCRM agency Underwired to develop websites for its car dealerships both in France and the UK.
