Kerwood joins Altitude, which has three venues inside London's Millbank Tower, as marketing director, reporting to managing director Mike Phillipson.
He leaves his role today (7 May) as head of marketing for events, a position he has held for five years.
"Altitude is a growing business and I feel there is work to be done," said Kerwood. "I launched the London Aquarium and great spaces at Thorpe Park with Merlin, but it was time for something new."
Altitude London's venue portfolio comprises Altitude 360, the River Room and the Millbank Cinema and Media Centre.
Kerwood is yet to be replaced at Merlin. .
