
Kennedy's previous board position as vice-chair will be taken over by Simon Ridout, managing director of exhibition supplier Dimension 8. Kennedy said it was a "great privilege" to serve as vice-chair during Marshall’s time as ESSA chair, adding: "I hope my tenure will be as constructive and positive as Nick's has been."
Talking about what he will be doing in his role as ESSA chair, he said: "My emphasis will be on further encouraging links and collaboration between ESSA members and strengthening the esprit de corps that already exists. I also want to build on the work ESSA has already done, pushing for greater representation at legislative and regulatory levels."
Ridout added: "As vice-chair, I am looking forward to supporting Andrew's ambitions to expand ESSA's influence and consolidate its pre-eminent position in the industry."
Andrew Harrison, ESSA director, welcomed Kennedy and Ridout to their new positions. He said: "Andrew and Simon are both seasoned professionals who are well aware of the pressures and complexities of running businesses in the sector. I am confident that their combined expertise and understanding of the industry will be important assets as they steer the association into the future."
. Speaking about the AGM, Harrison said: "Over the last few years we've striven to build the AGM into an unmissable event for our members, by bringing in well-focused content and providing a relaxed and conducive networking environment.
"Our venue partners at ArenaMK made last year's G50+ conference a great success and I'm looking forward to meeting our members at this year's AGM, especially the first time delegates."
