Wyndham, which sits alongside the high-profile Jacob's Creek brand in Pernod Ricard's wine portfolio, will be backed by an investment of £500,000.
This will fund a TV advertising campaign created by Australian agency Clemenger BBDO.
The activity, which breaks in April, will carry the strapline 'Where Australian shiraz began', highlighting the role of Wyndham's founder in the growth of the Australian wine industry.
The Wyndham estate is the oldest winery business operating in Australia, and was the first to grow the shiraz grape variety commercially. Its wines include the flagship Bin 555 shiraz and a sparkling shiraz.
To support the advertising, Pernod Ricard will redesign the brand's packaging to highlight the provenance of the wine.
Wyndham's UK volume sales grew by 164% in the year to November 2004, according to ACNielsen. The Australian category grew by 4.7% over the same period.
The brand, positioned in the highly competitive £5-£7 price sector, is currently introducing its 2002 vintage into the market. Its main competitors include Southcorp's Rosemount brand and Percy Fox's Blossom Hill.
