PepsiCo UK boss tops Power 100

PepsiCo UK president Martin Glenn is today named as the UK's most powerful marketer in Marketing's fifth annual Power 100 list.

Glenn, who storms up the list from sixth place last year, earned his place due to the performance of the Walkers, Pepsi, Tropicana and Quaker brands, as well as his forthright stance on the issue of marketing food to kids.

Glenn leads the list ahead of Tesco's Tim Mason and WPP's Sir Martin Sorrell. New entries Tessa Jowell MP and Vodafone's Peter Bamford complete the top five.

Newcomers, who include M&S chief executive Stuart Rose and The Number chief executive Chris Moss, account for almost half the list.

Unilever chairman Niall FitzGerald, who has held the top spot since 2000, has slipped down as he is retiring from the role in September.
