PEOPLE: Appointment at Top of the Pops (TOTP) music show

Simon Kendall has been appointed brand manager for the BBC's Top of the Pops (TOTP) music show. He will aim to promote the brand internationally using both above and below-the-line strategies, including new-media executions and the official TOTP web site (www.bbc.co.uk/totp). Kendall assumes the role from 6 May, leaving his position as head of BBC Radio International, a division that is responsible for global radio programme distribution and operates within the BBC Music division. He will report to Anna Broughton, BBC Music's marketing and business director. "This is a major global music brand and the opportunity to further its international development is fantastic," said Kendall.
