The restructure also sees Robert Campbell, the joint creative director of Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, take on a pan-European role as the vice-chairman for Y&R Advertising. He continues as the joint executive creative director of RKCR London.
As creative-practice leader, Campbell will be responsible for driving creative standards.
The European restructure sees William Eccleshare, who was appointed the chief executive and chairman of Y&R EMEA last August, takes over the chief executive and chairman's role at Wunderman Europe. He replaces Stewart Pearson, who steps down after three years without a job to go to.
Eccleshare said: "These steps will create a European network that approaches a client's issues with channel-neutral flexibility and the ability to draw from Y&R or Wunderman, or both, with equal ease and fluidity."
An EMEA operating board of Y&R/Wunderman directors, which Eccleshare will head, will also launch.
Local ties between Wunderman and Y&R will also be strengthened by the appointment of country chairmen with jurisdiction over both operations in France, Italy and Belgium. The two operations' management teams will remain separate in the UK.
The network is also setting up an EMEA centre of excellence in strategic planning to be led by the director of strategy, Jim Williams, with the executive planning director, Simon Silvester.
Pru Parkinson, the managing director of digital for EMEA, becomes the practice leader for Interactive, while Cathy Lasowski, Y&R's managing partner on the global Danone account, becomes the EMEA chief client officer.
The appointment comes two weeks before the network announces its plans for senior management in the UK, after the partners completed their earnout.
