The partnership comes after the companies formed a working relationship at the London Olympics in 2012. The caterers opened a pop-up café in the Grand Hall of the venue to provide food and drink to around 2,000 members of the French Olympic committee, who were staying at Old Billingsgate for the duration of the games.

Payne and Gunter also provided a 17-day buffet service for 24,000 covers in the Vault space of the venue, as well as catering for private canapé parties in the Gallery.

Heidi Hatfield, business development manager at Old Billingsgate, said: "We are delighted to add Payne and Gunter to our list of preferred caterers, which now offers our clients some of the best names in London event catering. The wide range means that we are able to offer clients a diverse choice of style and budget, according to their requirements.

"We work closely with all our caterers, on a regular basis, therefore their practical advice and support is invaluable to our clients in terms of event delivery. We look forward to working with Payne and Gunter in the future."

Old Billingsgate’s list of London-based preferred caterers includes Lettice, Seasoned Events, Moving Venue, By Word of Mouth, Rhubarb, Dish, The London Kitchen, Create, Admiral Crichton, Grazing and Alison Price.
