Paul Robinson wins role at Disney after Talk Radio takeover

Talk Radio’s former managing director, Paul Robinson, has moved to the Disney Channel UK as vice-president and managing director.

Talk Radio’s former managing director, Paul Robinson, has moved to

the Disney Channel UK as vice-president and managing director.

Robinson was ousted from Talk by Kelvin MacKenzie, the station’s new

owner, after he, along with the former commercial director, Stan Park,

and the head of programming, John Simons, staged an unsuccessful

management buyout from CLT-Ufa. MacKenzie brought in his own staff

following a successful bid.

This is Robinson’s first commercial position in television, after a long

spell in radio. The Disney job was previously held by Tom Wszalek, who

has moved over to see Disney through its entry into digital TV.

Robinson will report to David Hulbert, the senior vice-president and

managing director of European broadcasting, Walt Disney Television

International.

Robinson is thought still to be in dispute with MacKenzie over his

severance deal.
