Partners BDDH this week launches its first work for the Ski brand
since winning the pounds 4 million Eden Vale account last June.
The 30-second television commercial, plus a ten-second follow-up, will
appear on national terrestrial television to promote the Ski brand as
’the full of goodness food’.
’Carwash’ shows a man out on the family drive, cleaning the car. Every
time he thinks he has completed the task a mysterious dollop of yogurt
appears somewhere on the car.
His attempts to wash his car are being sabotaged by his wife and
children, who are flicking Ski at the car from their hiding place on a
balcony.
The ten-second execution shows the father getting his own back by
dousing his wife with a bucket of water.
Paul Gardener, the account director on the business at Partners BDDH,
said: ’Despite an enormous amount of latent goodwill, the Ski brand has
suffered from the perception that it is a product of the 70s - people
remember the ads showing fruit cascading down a ski slope. The new
campaign aims to combat this and to help people see Ski in a
contemporary light.’
The ad was written by David McCullough and art directed by Tony
Bradbourne.
It was directed by Joakim Eliasson in his first UK product-ion, through
Velocity Films.
Media buying is through Zenith.
Partners BDDH won the Eden Vale account in a final head-to-head pitch
against BDH TBWA in Manchester. The business was held by Bates UK until
Cheshire-based Eden Vale called the review in March last year.
