Parkinson takes over at Kiss

Emap has appointed Steve Parkinson as interim managing director of the Kiss radio network.

He replaces Bill Griffin, who has decided to leave at the end of January to start a new role at an unnamed communications agency.
Parkinson will be tasked with leading the continued reinvention of the Kiss brand which started last year.
He will retain his current role as Emap radio marketing and communications director, plus continuing work on improving the group-wide research function, reviewing national brand strategy and cross promotions strategy.
Prior to joining Emap in 2005, Parkinson worked for Chrysalis radio for 10 years, latterly as managing director of Heart 106.2
Emap said the recruitment process for the managing director role will start in the New Year, with the aim of making an appointment in the first quarter of 2007.
