She leaves Bauer Media in November, but her start date at Global Radio is still to be officially confirmed. The head of commercial programming role is a new position and Parkin will be responsible for ensuring commercial activity is at the centre of Heart's programming strategy.
Parkin will report directly to Richard Park, group executive director and director of broadcasting at Global Radio. She will also be working closely with Mark Browning, Heart's programming director.
Parkin has been in her current role at Bauer Media for the past three years in charge of generating ideas for Magic's and Bauer Media's national stations' sponsorship and promotions activities.
Before this, she worked in the sales and promotions department at Bauer Media predecessor, Emap Radio.
While at Magic, she reported directly to Mark Story, managing director of Magic105.4 and managing director, national brands.
He said of her departure: "Liz has made a huge contribution to Magic 105.4, both commercially and in programming terms. She has been a tower of strength at Magic and she leaves with our best wishes."
Bauer Media intends to recruit for a replacement in due course.
Last month, Heart 106.2 unveiled a £1m campaign with a TV ad launching on 23 August during ITV's The X Factor. The "Give it some Heart" ad features three girls in a bar dashing to the toilets to make sure they look good for the men.
Last month, Global Radio announced that Stephen Miron, managing director of The Mail on Sunday, has been hired as Global Radio's chief executive of radio. His start date has yet to be announced.
