Parents befuddled by Pop Tarts in Jackass idents on MTV

LONDON - Kellogg's has unveiled a series of humorous Pop Tarts idents for its sponsorship of MTV's controversial stunt series 'Jackass', which claims that 'parents just don't get them'.

The spots have been created by Leo Burnett and are based around the idea that Pop Tarts are created for teenagers and not adults. Using the strapline "Parents just don't get them", they show parents trying to use Pop Tarts to change the television channel, play table tennis and even use them as knee pads when roller blading.

The spots were written and art directed by Angus Macadam and Paul Jordan, directed by Mikko at Hungry Man Productions. Media is through MindShare.

Pop Tarts were launched by Kellogg's in the mid 1990s, with four flavours currently on sale in the UK: Choctastic; Strawberry Sensation; Chocomallow; and the latest addition, Cookies and Creme.

The sponsorship of 'Jackass' runs until the end of the year.
