House of Fraser pushes its sale in The Guardian, while M&S continues its "home event", offering discounts on furniture and homeware, and Harrods is offering 10% off this weekend.

B&Q
offers deals on paint for those wanting to brighten up their homes before the long winter nights set in, while Focus gets the same idea, lowering the price of its exclusive-brand paints.

The Times offers readers a free £10 Habitat gift card when spending more than £25 in-store, while the retailer also advertises its sale. Selfridges & Co advertises cut-price bedroom furniture and Moben pushes half-price kitchens.

Value fashion store Peacocks takes out an ad highlighting its 20%-off sale as it attempts to get in on the "Primemark effect", as fashionistas continue to look for a bargain while the economy remains unstable.

Waterstone’s
offers half-price biographies in an attempt to compete with the recent deals laid out by supermarkets. 

And as finances continue to dominate the editorial pages, Prudential leaps on the ongoing unease over the public sector pension scheme overhaul, suggesting workers without a plan should consider tonight’s EuroMillions draw. Or, of course, speak to one of their advisers.
