LONDON - Today's press tackles yesterday's official start of the General Election campaign with relish, with editorially-led issues of the tabloids underlining their support for either the Conservatives or Labour.

, , and all lead on the election, with pull-out sections setting the scene for the weeks of campaigning before 6 May. relegates the election to a small side story, leaving room to lead on Jordan and Peter Andre.

The other main story papers are splashing on today is the split of celebrity comedy couple, Lenny Henry and Dawn French.

Promotions remain thin on the ground for a second day, while the election takes centre stage. The Daily Star continues to advertise a cross-promotion, money-off voucher with the Daily Express. The Daily Mail boasts free lavender plants for its readers and promotes its Money Mail supplement.
