Easyjet has launched a campaign to encourage consumers to oppose a rise in air passenger duty next week. The full page ad says the tax will hit families while those flying in private plane will not be effected.

Elsewhere in today’s press, Sony supports its Christmas, ‘VAT back’ TV campaign with ads across the nationals.

Currys advertises "the ultimate 3D experience" with offers on TVs and cameras.

Keith Richards is pictured in ads in The Independent for Waterstones with autobiographies, including his own, for half price.

Asda meanwhile is the latest supermarket to offer deals on fireworks while also promoting "better than half price" champagne.

Matalan and New Look join retailers in advertising budget winter clothes, picturing coats and jumpers as the season officially turns chilly.
