The paper carries eight Tesco ads across its first 17 pages promoting deals on products from toothpaste to Pringles and computer games.

Meanwhile Asda directly compares prices with Tesco in The Daily Mirror, claiming it sells 4,319 products cheaper.

Morrisons advertises its ‘The Best’ range with 25% off in The Times and The Daily Telegraph as supermarkets continues to push quality as well as price as part of ongoing strategy in the run-up to Christmas.

Argos advertises free money-off vouchers with a double page spread in The Sun and The Daily Mail.

Promoter SMJ Concerts takes out a full page in The Daily Express to advertise the Take That Progress tour dates for next year.

Sky takes out a full page in The Independent and i, highlighting its HD service. , including a buy one get one free offer from Sainsbury’s and a full page from Ryanair.
