There's no getting away from the queue of brands advertising festive treats and gift ideas in the national press as November draws to a close.

Sainsbury’s promotes its favourite chef with ads for Jamie Oliver's '30 Minute Meals' at half price. Tesco includes an eight-page insert in The Daily Mirror alongside a supplement for gift ideas and Waitrose offers half price cheese and wine.

DFS promises new sofas in customers' homes before Christmas in a double page spread in The Guardian backed by TV and radio ads to ensure its message is well and truly heard.

L’Oreal advertises its revitalift product while Boots offers No7 at "better than half price" and Superdrug highlights its perfume deals.

Glenfiddich whisky highlights its "subtle notes of pear and oak" with a full page in The Guardian, while in The Daily Telegraph the brand promises "complex notes of honey and raisins".

Freeview advertises its plus and HD boxes, reminding readers they don’t have to miss festive programmes this year.

New film releases are all over today's papers, Fox’s Unstoppable, starring Denzel Washington takes over a double page wrap around editorial in The Daily Mirror on pages 42 and 43 as well as in The Times on pages 22 and 23.

The Daily Telegraph promotes its Waitrose mince pie offer on its cover, free with the paper tomorrow.

The Daily Mirror meanwhile re-launches its tie-up with Lidl offering savings for readers.

Halifax repeats its half page cut out ad in The Guardian, removing its page seven and eight to advertise its current account rewards in the same unusual way as earlier this week.
