Waterstone’s advertises half-price copies of The Booker Prize winner, The Finkler Question by Howard Jacobson. In a separate ad, the bookseller pictures its latest half-price books and hints at a Christmas campaign, thanks to red berries appearing in the creative.

Nestle’s Kit Kat celebrates 75 years of "Kit Kat breaks" through a double-page spread in the Daily Mail picturing some of its best-loved ads.

The supermarkets are in good spirits, with Morrisons and Sainsbury’s offering deals on alcohol. However, 'healthy' food ranges get bad press in the Daily Mail, with brands including Hellmann’s, Quaker, Walkers and Kraft criticised in an expose feature.

M&S continues its "glam rocks" campaign to promote its party season wear, featuring X Factor judge Dannii Minogue in a cocktail dress.

Finally, Sony recommends Windows 7 for use with its VAIO laptop, highlighting its HD picture and its "heart-wrenching realism".
