Gillette tells consumers "winter hates your face" as it promotes its moisturiser for men and Nivea advertises its "arctic freeze" range in a Superdrug-branded campaign.

Meanwhile, Npower rolls out a loft insulation campaign featuring the Wallace and Gromit characters.

Ryanair promotes cheap flights to ski resorts during December and January, while the Daily Express offers savings on tickets to board the new Queen Elizabeth cruise ship, after the vessel was named by the Queen yesterday.

Asda competes with Sainsbury’s on the luxury food front by advertising its "extra special" range across all the national papers. The discount grocer also promotes its energy-saving week, offering reductions on light bulbs and other eco products.

Specsavers supports its TV ad with a press campaign featuring Mr Happy, as part of its latest nostalgia trip into the archives of children’s TV.

Beck’s continues its "art label" tie-up with play.com to offer free music, while Aviva takes out a full-page ad in the Daily Telegraph to confirm its commitment to customers when they need to make an insurance claim.
