While BA continues its ad campaign attacking low-cost airlines, Ryanair secures itself some editorial coverage in The Sun for its new calendar depicting 'the girls of Ryanair'.

The Ryanair calendar features its hostesses in bikinis. It will raise money for charity, although The Sun fails to mention which charity, favouring pictures over word count.

Supermarkets remain at loggerheads competing for Christmas shoppers. Aldi promises "never ending discounts" highlighting condiments, clothes and alcohol in a full page ad in The Sun.

Morrison’s offers wines at "half price or better" while Asda highlights the same deal on a selection of groceries, including Pringles and pasta sauce.

Sainsbury’s offers Christmas treats, such as mince pies and pudding for £5 and Tesco offers similar sweets for half price.

Innocent thanks volunteers who have knitted woolly hats for its bottles of smoothies, with two half page ads in The Times. Money from sales will be donated to Age UK to help the elderly keep warm during the winter months.

Argos competes for electrical purchases offering half-price cameras, while mobile network Three prompts readers to ask for a BlackBerry for Christmas, with the model now available on a ‘pay as you go’ contract.

Carphone Warehouse meanwhile promotes half-price Nokia handsets with ‘pay as you go’ deals.
