Panasonic backs London 2012 in Viera TV ad

Panasonic is promoting its Smart Viera TV and its sponsorship of the London 2012 Olympic Games with an ad that features a gymnast performing on top of a giant television.

A 30-second TV spot by Brave launches today with the strapline, "See it like never before", to promote the brand's Smart Viera televisions.

'Inception' actor Tom Hardy features as the voice of the Viera TV, which includes a gymnast performing on top of a slimline Panasonic.

Berisford Cheetham was the executive creative director on the ad. He worked alongside creative director Colin Jones and copywriter, Liam Fenton. Howard Greenhalgh directed the ad while Soft Target was the production company.

The campaign will run across TV, print, online and in-store, in a media campaign developed by Vizeum.

David Bonney, advertising manager at Panasonic UK, said: "This campaign is the first to really bring to the forefront our long-term Olympic partnership and cements Panasonic's commitment to developing innovative technology and our pursuit of excellence."
