One of the many problems faced by brand managers is the lack of control over how their product is marketed in-store. Whereas they can manage a TV and print campaign from brief to execution, the retail environment is ultimately controlled by the retailers themselves. So what brands are taking up the prime space and gaining consumer attention in-store?
To answer this question P&I has teamed up with to create an in-store league on what brands and promotions are receiving the most prominence within the top four grocers. It is based on a points system with brands scoring for space on prime positions such as pallets, gondola ends and two random stores from each of the top four supermarkets have been picked. The scores are then averaged out over all four retailers.
