P&G shifts femcare boss to top UK beauty role

Gino De Jaegher is to replace Gill Whitty-Collins as marketing chief of Procter & Gamble's beauty business in the UK.

Whitty-Collins is moving to a new European role at the FMCG giant as marketing director of Western Europe liners and feminine care global new business development. She will be based in Geneva and will take up the position next month.

De Jaegher, who was formerly marketing director of paper, has been promoted to marketing director for beauty care, femcare and oralcare UK & Ireland.

In addition to his new responsibilities, he will retain control of marketing for its femcare brands including Alldays and Tampax. He will report to Gianni Ciserani, vice-president and managing director of P&G UK & Ireland.

Jenny Ashmore, who took up the role of associate director of babycare in February (Marketing, 26 February), will replace De Jaegher.

De Jaegher has been credited with launching Sunny Delight in the UK and the rest of Europe as well as boosting Tampax's market-leading position in the sanitary protection market.

Tampax competes against brands including SCA Hygiene's Bodyform and Kimberly-Clark's Kotex.
