Ovarian Cancer Action "I will survive"

Ovarian Cancer Action enlists the next generation to address startling statistics on ovarian cancer in the UK.

The ad sees a collective of young girls performing a spoken word rendition of I Will Survive, as originally performed by Gloria Gaynor. A cover of the song, performed by UK singer Birdy, plays in the background as Academy Award-winning actress Kate Winslet – who lost her mother to ovarian cancer in 2017 – reveals that one woman dies of ovarian cancer in the UK every two hours.

The idea came from former RKCR/Y&R managing director Vicky Jacobs, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer six years ago, and a team of her former colleagues. Running across TV, online, press and out of home, the work was created by Pip Bishop and Chris Hodgkiss, and directed by Joanna Bailey through Snapper Films.
