Its event space, which sits just below the main viewing platform at the top of the tower, will be open for corporate functions, product launches, weddings and other private events in 2014. The two platforms are 300sqm each.
OPLC senior manager for park operations and venues Edward Fane told Event his team is in talks with events company Create Events on how best to use the venue space in the tower and around the park.
"It is an experiential visitor attraction and exhibition space," he said. "We have had interest in the event space and are in discussions with several companies."
Fane said the Orbit can accommodate 5,000 visitors a day and is expected to generate £10m in revenue every year from ticket sales and events.
The 50-acre site underneath the Orbit can also host outdoor events for up to 15,000 people.
