Orange appoints head of business market services

Orange has snapped up BT Cellnet's former head of brand and communications Tracy Hirth to develop the Orange brand in the business arena.

Hirth has taken the newly created role of business and marketing communications manager and reports to Cynthia Gordon, marketing director, business solutions.

Hirth is responsible for communicating and promoting a range of services Orange offers to the business market including mobile e-mail, as well as integration with laptops and PDAs. Gordon joined Orange from alternative telecoms carrier Thus (Marketing, January 17).

Hirth spent two-and-a-half years at BT Cellnet where she spearheaded its sponsorship of Channel 4's second Big Brother series.She left at the end of last year without a job to go to (Marketing, November 22, 2001).

Prior to her time at BT Cellent she spent three years at One 2 One as head of marketing communications. She joined One 2 One from Ogilvy & Mather, where she was a board account director working for clients including BT, Southern Electric and AT&T.
