The company currently provides a video upload platform for popular social media sites, including Bebo, Hi5 and Piczo, and runs video advertising campaigns across its 70-strong network of sites.
The company, which is part-owned by WPP, is now looking to extend its video advertising reach to major UK media owners, enabling them to serve a larger audience.
Adam Klein, president of Videoegg, said: "We're starting to work with media owners that we don't provide technology for. They don't necessarily have the technology and sales approach that we have, so they're coming to us to do their ad sales. Some of the big players are looking at video advertising and this is where we've got to go."
Klein, along with chief executive Matt Sanchez and newly appointed Europe managing director Jordan Ferguson, is seeking to hire a UK sales team to focus on expanding from the company's US stronghold. The move will allow Videoegg to better serve ads to the UK market through Bebo and Piczo.
Unilever and Universal are among the biggest advertisers to run campaigns with the company to date.
