ONdigital has been rapped by the Advertising Standards Authority for claiming it reached a million customers faster than its rival Sky. The ASA upheld a complaint by BSkyB, which objected to a press ad and leaflet in which ONdigital said the milestone figure, reached in just over two years, represented an "uptake faster than that of Sky's". The ASA said the comparison was unfair because it had been made with take up of Sky's analogue service, not Sky Digital. Two further complaints, including allegations that ONdigital's figures were exaggerated and an objection to the line that "ONdigital outsold Sky 2:1 in December 2000", were not upheld.
