Omnicom agrees South Bank move

Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, M2M, Manning Gottlieb OMD and TBWA\London are expected to be among the first wave of Omnicom agencies to relocate to the former Royal Bank of Scotland office building on London's South Bank next year.

The 370,000-square-foot office can accommodate about 4,000 of Omnicom’s 8,000 UK employees.

The media agencies OMD and PHD in Minerva House on North Crescent off Tottenham Court Road are not thought to be part of the relocation. The Omnicom ad agency Adam & Eve/DDB will remain in its Paddington office, which has been recently refurbished.

It is believed that Omnicom is considering moving its network PR agencies, including FleishmanHillard, into the new building.

Omnicom is just the latest holding group to try to physically align its agencies.

WPP’s MEC and Ogilvy Group are also moving to the South Bank next year. Both will be based in Sea Containers on the River Thames from next year.

Havas has created the Havas Village for its agencies in Paris and New York, and plans to do the same in London. Havas has already brought together its media agencies, Havas Media and Arena, under one roof in St Martin’s Lane.

In September, Havas confirmed it would be moving its London agencies into a single site in King’s Cross. The 11-storey, 165,000-square-foot building will have a double-height reception, cafe and three roof terraces.

Dentsu Aegis Network, then just Aegis Group, moved agencies including iProspect, Isobar, Carat and Vizeum into a single building near Regent’s Park in 2011.
