For Bayside Music festival, which was running alongside the Olympic sailing events at Weymouth but was cancelled due to lack of visitors, SXS supplied full production as well as outdoor structures and a line array sound system. it was paid up front for its work with the festival.
Johnny Palmer, head of special projects at SXS said: "I think that the UK events business was both curious and sceptical about the work that the Olympics would bring in. In our case, we started getting serious enquiries about six months prior to the games. This has resulted in some large and high-profile contracts for the company, which we are very proud of."
He said Olympic organisers could have over-anticipated travel chaos during the Games: "I feel that there was a high level of planning which resulted in possible over-planning. In the case of Weymouth in particular I feel some people have been scared away due to traffic warnings."
