
The renovations are part of a £20m investment in Olympia by EC&O’s parent company, Capital & Counties (Capco).
EC&O Venues managing director Nigel Nathan said: "Our vision for Olympia respects the fabric of this historic building whilst also making the internal space easier to access and more flexible for organisers to use."
Association of Event Organisers (AEO) chief executive Karim Halwagi said the development help stimulate the London event market.
"Large shows will be able to get better utilisation and visitor flows while small shows will have more flexibility to expand," he said.
The venue’s first exhibition, the International Horse Show, starts tomorrow (13 December). , Transport for London (TfL) will be running a special tube service to Olympia during the exhibition, after the withdrawal of regular weekday services to the station on 9 December.
EC&O has been in negotiations with TfL to secure weekday tube services for more than twenty shows between January and June 2012, and to improve station signage.To leave a comment and let us know your thoughts.
