Office worker shows naughty side in Malteser ad

LONDON - An office gossip who does not feel naughty enough after munching a low-calorie Malteser decides to flash her bra to a passing male colleague to satisfy her wicked side in the latest ad for the chocolate brand, directed by 'Green Wing' director Victoria Pile.

The "naughty" spot, created by Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, uses humour reminiscent of Bafta award-winning director Pile's own work, which includes writing and directing female ensemble comedy 'Smack the Pony' as well as the more recent 'Green Wing'.

The two women in the ad, who play the office gossips, were specifically chosen for their comedy experience, having appeared in shows such as the 'IT Crowd' and 'Coupling'.

The ad starts with the two women talking about Maltesers and how few calories there are in a packet.

One of the women eats a chocolate and says "See, now I don't feel very naughty at all". She then jumps up and calmly flashes her bra at an unsuspecting male worker in the office next door.

The man falls over in shock and drops all of his papers, while the gossip sits down coolly and is asked by her colleague "Better?", to which she replies "Oh, much better". Normality is then resumed as if nothing ever happened.

The spot ends with the tagline "less than 190 calories" and the iconic words "Maltesers, the lighter way to enjoy chocolate".

Mary Wear was the copywriter on the ad, Caroline Wainhouse was planner, while the producer was Lindsay Hughes. The production company was Sneezing Tree.

Pile began her career as a writer contributing to shows such as 'Spitting Image' and 'Not the Nine O'Clock News', while creating sketches and characters for Lenny Henry and Tracey Ullman.

Maltesers is a Masterfoods brand, which is a division of Mars UK.
