Oddbins "what the fox" by Spectrecom Films

What the fox, indeed. Oddbins has produced what must be the most bizarre Christmas ad of the year - or any other year, for that matter.

The online spot, created by Spectrecom Films, opens on a miserable humbug of a man buying some wine in Oddbins. On his way out, the scrooge is tripped up by a stuffed fox and dragged into its lair, where he is shown how to enjoy Christmas. The ad ends with the man leaving the shop with a rejuvenated outlook on the festive season. It is distinctly low-budget and a little on the naff side, but that's also part of its charm (along with its outright weirdness) as an antithesis to the big-budget retail campaigns that dominate this time of year. The work was directed by Mark Jackson.
